SailCie Sailing Weekend
During the weekend of the 9th, 10th and 11th of June the SailCie organised their yearly sailing weekend. During this weekend 25 participants travelled to Idskenhuizen to sail across the beautiful Frisian lakes.
Because of the great weather, reaching more than 30 degrees Celsius and a nice wind across the water the sailing was very pleasant. During the day it was possible to sail to neighbouring villages, go for a nice lunch or jump off the boat for a quick swim.
In the evening the committee prepared a fulfilling dinner in the house we were staying at, which was previously a church. To make sure no one was bored at any time, many games were played long into the evening, accompanied with a drink.
On the Saturday evening the committee had prepared a pubquiz about sailing and the Frisian country with a special prize: The winner gets to throw a committee member in the water the next morning. This of course, writing as one of the winners, was a satisfying prize.
All in all it was a fun weekend, and I strongly encourage everyone who reads this to join next years sailing weekend!
