COCo BTG Excursion

On the 2nd of December the COCo organised an excursion to Biomass Technology Group. With 20 students their site was visited in Enschede where everyone got to know how BTG is trying to improve the world.

BTG is a company specialized in converting biomass into fuel, energy and biobased resources. They have been doing this for more than 30 years and originated as a spin off from the University of Twente.

During the excursion the students enjoyed a presentation on the various ways BTG is currently using biomass, like conversion into bio-oil which can be used as fuel, but also how this bio-oil can possibly be substituted into existing refineries in order to make them more sustainable.
