Educational Evaluation

EDUCATIONAL EVALUATION

General

Within the study of Chemical Science and Engineering (CSE) education is evaluated in several ways. In this evaluation, the opinion of every student is taken in high regard, so that the study can continuously be improved. Both the educational organization and Alembic offer these evaluations. Below this general introduction, several institutions that are connected to the evaluation of our education are explained.

QAC-CSE

The ‘Quality Assurance Committee‘, previously known as the ‘Onderwijs Kwalitiet Commissie‘ consists of the coordinator of quality control from the cluster Science & Technology Renilde Bonthuis-van Seters, Erna Brus and a couple of students. This committee asks the students for their input on the quality of their education in three ways;

  • Student panel interviews

  • OKC-web evaluations

  • Teacher panel interviews

These evaluations take place for each quartile. In the student panel interviews, students can give their opinion on, for example, their subjects, the guidance, the exams, and the facilities. Next to that, students can provide their opinions in web evaluations. Finally, students and teachers are invited to the teacher panel interviews. The teachers can ask for an explanation of the issues found in the earlier evaluations and the students have another chance to deliver input on the quality of their education.

Tostis

Het Thematisch Overleg Scheikundig Technologen in Spé (TOSTIS) (roughly translated: Thematic Consultation Future Chemical Engineers) is organized by the Educational Committee halfway every quartile. A guest speaker is invited to hold an educational-related presentation during a lunch break. As the name suggests, the EduCo also delivers delicious free toasties to everyone present. Commisioner of Educational Affairs

When you have a complaint concerning the programme or education, you can contact the Commissioner of Educational Affairs of Alembic. This person will always try to solve your problems or help you to contact the correct person who can help you.
